Senior SAP BTP Application Developer

Heartland Dental is implementing a multi-year technology transformation strategy. A key component of that strategy is establishing teams dedicated to supporting core business functions through enterprise technology platforms. These “platform teams” are composed of product- focused team members, who specialize in technologies that support the enterprise.
The Enterprise Platform team focusses on technologies that are applied across multiple business functions and value streams. A component of that team is the SAP Business Technology
Platform (BTP). Scope of the team includes:
Consulting with business stakeholders to develop innovative solutions with SAP BTP in support of our doctors and their teams.
Developing, configuring, and maintaining application services within the SAP Business
Technology platform.
Maintaining a close partnership with our Extended Planning and Analysis (XP&A) team which is responsible for data stewardship and analytics within the SAP BTP.
Collaborating with our core application development team, including integrating and extending existing internal systems.
We are seeking a dedicated individual who will be the lead developer of SAP’s Business
Technology Platform services, executing on the vision of the business to provide scalable, sustainable, and optimized solutions. The Senior Application Developer position reports to the
Manager of Enterprise Platforms. They have a deep understanding of SAP BTP development, skilled in Java, JavaScript/UI5, and Node.js languages, and will be asked to teach and mentor existing development team members to build familiarity and competency within the SAP BTP development space.
Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:
Main Responsibilities o Develop and maintain custom applications leveraging SAP BTP- based services (Business Application Studio, Build Apps, Build
Work Zone, etc.) o Work with the IT Enterprise Platform Team, and business owners, to develop wire-frame models and UI prototypes o Complete unit testing of all applications o Work with Application development leadership to expand BTP competencies within the team o Compile technical specification documents for all development as per company requirements
o Provide support during UAT activities o Setup and maintain GitHub environment for BTP development and own the SDLC in partnership with Enterprise Platform management.
Partnership responsibilities o Business owners and functional leads o Extended Planning and Analysis (XP&A) team o IT Business Management (ITBM) project managers and business partners o Application Development team o SAP product development o 3rd Party Consulting Partner o Product roadmap reviews with SAP and Platform team management
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience in developing SAP applications in UI5 (or equivalent)
Strong knowledge and working experience in UI5 related programming like JavaScript,
HTML5, Node.js, CSS, jQuery, Angular JS
Experience working with OData Services
Should be able to extend and customize SAP BTP service applications
Familiar with concepts of Design Thinking and agile development
Capable of facilitating requirements sessions, and interactive prototyping sessions
Desirable Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Understanding of cloud-based software models (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)
Development experience in SAP Build Work Zone or SuccessFactors Work Zone
